About this Project

Working closely with LM Manufacturing and Bedrock Detroit, Premier Construction & Design fully leveraged our integrated project delivery process to complete this very time sensitive project in less than a year from concept to completion!  Design and Construction work included the renovation over 265,000 SF of existing manufacturing/warehousing space and the new construction of a 33,000 SF addition connecting the existing facilities.  Premier’s fully integrated design, engineering, and construction solution included the following work:

• Fully developed design including all required certifications and permits

• Upgrade of fire suppression systems to ESFR

• Ceiling (30’) to floor repaint of entire facility including color coding

• Complete floor refinishing including epoxy and clear coating systems

• Complete demolition, rework and rebuild of production floor restrooms

• Troubleshooting and replacing components for 20 truck docks and wells and 40 entrances/exits 

• Complete renovation of 21,000 square feet of offices including:

  • Bathrooms

  • Kitchen/break areas

  • Conference/huddle areas

  • Server rooms with specialty fire suppression

  • Private and Open office areas

• Renovation of Cafeteria 

• Build out of Quality control laboratories 

• Extensive site work including

  • New pedestrian, passenger and truck entrances 

  • Complete mill/repave/striping of all parking areas

  • New underground storm water retention

  • New concrete curbs, walks, and paving for production area truck turning, parking and security required for quick production turnaround times

• Upgraded exterior and interior lighting and controls

As a joint venture between LM Manufacturing and Magna International, this project was a part of the push to bring automotive manufacturing back into the city of Detroit and Premier couldn’t be more honored to have been a part of the team to make it happen!
