Work Hard and Play Harder with the Redesigned Novara Law

Novara Law is like many legal firms which require long hours, dedication and ultimately dealing with a certain level of stress. As the firm was ready to relocate their offices, they took the time to think about their current work environment and determine how they could best improve upon their workflow, but also keep in mind the environment and how they could enhance their team’s well-being. Ownership worked with the team at Premier Construction & Design to think outside the box to create an environment that is sleek, bright and energetic.

Connection was key. For us, making sure that the space planning of their 25,000 SF footprint was well organized and connected to allow the team members to work together and collaborate on a professional level, but also build relationships with the numerous amenities provided by their ownership team. Due to the stressful nature of the profession, ownership wanted to make sure their team had spaces away from their desk to decompress and recharge at any point within their traditionally long day. Some of the lounge space highlights include a café filled with an endless supply of healthy snacks, flavored water machine and gourmet coffee options, a game room with options such as board games, a pool table, arcade games, and lastly an office favorite, a golf simulator.

The playful vibe of the lounge areas evokes a level of relaxation, while the featured graffiti of iconic symbols reflects the positive story and culture around everything the business stands for. Founded in Metro Detroit nearly forty years ago, the artwork throughout the space represents the history behind the firm’s origin. The images of Detroit attractions and iconic Michigan landmarks creates a sense of pride and optimism in the firm’s history and everything they represent for their clients today.

To fully encompass this theme of optimism, relaxation and a dynamic work environment, the design team incorporated a color palette of natural materials and flooring that resembled concrete tile. Classic shades of grey and blue were selected to play off the warmth of the wood features to really pull the space together. As a result, the team at Novara Law has a unique workspace that embodies the energy that they bring to their clients.
